Alessia Scarso is a film director, graduated at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome.
She has worked as film editor and post-production coordinator.
Her first foray into directing fiction was with Disinstallare un amore, a short film selected at more than one hundred festivals around the world.
In 2015 her first full-length film Italo was released in theatres: the film tells the true and touching story of an extraordinary stray dog. The film has been shown in dozens of countries around the world.
In 2017 she produced and directed the short documentary Vasa Vasa, the story of the Passion and Resurrection of Christ told from the emotional point of view of the Madonna.
For some years her passion for contemplation cultivated through astrophotography has seen her as a finalist in prestigious international competitions such as the Astronomy Photographer of the Year at the Royal Observatory di Greenwich in London e il Photo Nightscape Awards in Paris.
Alessia Scarso is a member of the Pictores Caeli, a group of astrophotographers known and appreciated by the Universities Space Research Association (USRA) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (the famous NASA).
In 2021 she sets up her first art exhibition, AD SIDERA. C’era una Volta Celeste.
The aspect that characterizes Alessia Scarso’s linguistic and aesthetic research is the ability of visual exegesis of the landscapes combined with the observation of natural and cosmological elements. Her vision brings characters, environment and architecture back towards the restitution of the contemplative interpretation in a visual and pictorial style.
